Clip mapping won't work in this case because, as John Gross aptly
presented Clip Mapping in other posts, everything above 50% gray will be
clipped, and anything below 50% gray will be kept. Gradiented Clip Maps have
no effect on the relative transpareny of an object. It's either there, or it
isn't. Actually makes perfect sense now that I think about it...
